• Pioneertown outing: Pioneertown is an 1880s-style Old West town built in 1946 as a Hollywood movie set. In town is an internationally famous roadhouse and restaurants, often with live music. Pioneer Bowl is a 1950s mid-century bowling alley, keeping the original equipment and furniture as it was installed 66 years ago. Bowling requires reservations in advance. It remains a “living museum” featuring classic wood lanes, original Brunswick A2 pinsetters, a snack shop, a vintage post office, and original artwork. The Pioneertown Petting Zoo offers the experience to pet, feed and interact with miniature farm animals such as pigs, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, cows and more. (All Pioneertown activities are self-pay.)
